View full detailsA kitchen renovation is four or five trades squeezed into one small room, usually inside somebody’s occupied house. The strip out happens on a Monday and the benchtop installer wants clear access by Thursday. That compression is what makes the paperwork matter. And if the work triggers any High-Risk Construction Work (HRCW) categories under the WHS Regulations, a SWMS is legally required.
If you’re installing kitchens as a subcontractor on a commercial fit-out or a residential build, the builder will ask for your SWMS before your crew gets a key. Our SWMS arrive via instant download as fully editable Microsoft Word (.docx) files. Put your company details in, add the variable site-specific information, adjust the controls to suit the site if required, and they’re ready to submit.
Demolition first. Pulling out an old kitchen means disconnecting appliances, cutting benchtops in place and prying cabinetry off walls you can’t see behind. Gas and water get capped by licensed people, not by whoever is holding the reciprocating saw, and the SWMS should say so plainly. Old sheeting, vinyl and adhesives in a pre-1990 house can contain asbestos, so identification belongs at the front of the job.
The services interface is where kitchen jobs go wrong. Cabinets get screwed to walls carrying live cabling, and a rangehood duct has to punch through an external wall that may have a circuit running up it. Isolation and cable location need naming, with the person responsible written down.
Then there’s the room itself. Two installers, a plumber and a tiler in a four by three metre space with an open cavity in the floor is congested work by any measure. Add silica and porcelain dust from on-site cutting, benchtops that weigh more than the crew lifting them, and hot works when someone brazes a fridge water line.
The Kitchens SWMS collection carries 31 documents which can all be viewed above and in the Kitchens SWMS Pack. The first grouping is the kitchen work itself, running from demolition and strip out through cabinetry and joinery installation to the tiling, waterproofing, plasterboard and floor coverings that finish the room. The second is the services interface, where the plumbing, gas and electrical documents sit, because a kitchen is where those trades cross over in four square metres. The third is the tool and general grouping a builder expects attached to your scope: silica dust control, power tools, ladders, nail guns, hot works, hazardous substances, manual handling and vehicle loading. Every SWMS is fully editable, so the controls can be modified if required to suit the room, the age of the building, and who else is working in it.
You can purchase individual SWMS templates if that’s all you need. A kitchen contractor running the whole job from demolition to painting gets asked for most of the list eventually, so the Kitchens SWMS Pack is the most cost-effective option: all 31 documents and a saving of 65% Off the individual prices, bought once, used on unlimited jobs.
If you need more than a handful of SWMS but not the full 31, we can put together a custom pack at a discounted price based on the number of SWMS you need. Download the Kitchens SWMS Selection List and email us for a custom quote — or call 1800 304 336 and we'll sort it out with you directly.
If you are multi-trade and need SWMS in other SWMS Template Packs, please Contact us and we can tailor a discounted solution to suit your business needs.
Call 1800 304 336 between 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Tell us what the job is and who’s asking for your SWMS, and we’ll point you at the right ones. We’ve been writing these since 2010, and we’d rather sell you two templates that fit than thirty that don’t.
15+ years and 15,000+ customers → We've been helping small and medium construction and trade businesses get their SWMS sorted since 2010. Our templates reflect real-world experience across the trades we serve - not generic documents assembled at a desk.
Pre-written and ready to use → Every SWMS template comes pre-filled with the hazards, risks, and control measures typical for that task and trade. You're not starting from a blank page - the hard work is already done. In most cases it's far quicker to delete what doesn't apply to your specific site than to research and write it yourself.
Legally compliant → Our SWMS templates are prepared in accordance with the Model WHS Regulations (Schedule 3), Safe Work Australia Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards. They're structured to meet all the requirements of a compliant SWMS - so you can use them with confidence on site, in tenders, and in audits.
Fully editable in Microsoft Word → Everything is supplied in .docx format. Add your company and site details, adjust the control measures to reflect your specific conditions if required, and you're done. No software subscriptions, no locked PDFs.
Pay once, use on every job → No ongoing fees, no per-project charges. Purchase a template once and use it across unlimited sites, projects, and tenders. When we update documents, existing customers receive discounts on revised versions.
Free phone and email support → When you purchase from us you get access to the same people who built the documents - not a call centre, not a chatbot. If you're unsure how to customise a SWMS for your specific site conditions, or a principal contractor is asking questions you can't answer, call 1800 304 336 and we'll help you work through it.
Honest advice → If you need one SWMS, we'll sell you one SWMS. If an industry pack makes more sense for your situation, we'll tell you that too. We're not here to push you toward the most expensive option - we're here to help you end up with the right documents for your actual needs.

As a small-medium business, we recently went through a period of accelerated growth and along with that came the need to update our existing WHS system to something much more robust.
Occupational Safety Solutions helped bring our documentation up to speed and provided guidance to ensure we are aligned with best practice for all of our WHS processes and procedures. Andrew has come to the rescue more than once when we needed new or refined documents for specific tenders and updated Safe Work Method Statements.
OSS are reasonably priced and responsive with fast turn around times. Honestly, we couldn't be happier with the service provided by OSS and would highly recommend to any organisation looking to update their WHS systems.
