View full detailsA 98 inch display weighs more than the two installers lifting it think it does by the halfway point. Audio visual work looks clean next to other trades. Then you’re on a scissor lift in a school hall, fixing a heavy mount into a substrate nobody has checked. If the work triggers any High-Risk Construction Work (HRCW) under the WHS Regulations, a SWMS is legally required.
Even if HRCW isn’t triggered, builders and facilities managers ask AV contractors for a SWMS more often now, particularly on school and hospital work. We’ve been preparing SWMS since 2010, and more than 15,000 Australian businesses are using them. They arrive via instant download as fully editable Microsoft Word (.docx) files. Put your company details in, add the site-specific information, adjust the controls to suit the site if required, and they’re ready to submit. We provide free phone and email support if you need it.
Height is the big one. Ceiling speakers and projector mounts off an Elevated Work Platform (EWP) or a mobile scaffold, cable pulls above a suspended ceiling, and rigging points in an auditorium where the fall is a long way onto fixed seating. Anything over two metres is in scope. Mounting loads matter just as much, because a heavy display or a line array is a suspended load held by whatever the fixing is anchored into, and plasterboard with no noggin behind it will hold long enough for you to walk away. The SWMS should say who verifies the substrate and the fixing rating. Electrical exposure runs through the whole job: drilling into walls with unknown cabling, working near live distribution in a comms room, and site power for tools that has to be tested and tagged. Ceiling voids and risers bring restricted access and poor lighting, and sometimes a confined space. Older buildings add asbestos to the list wherever you’re cutting into linings or old riser walls. Add live venue work, where the public or staff are underneath you while you’re overhead.
The Audio Visual SWMS collection carries 31 documents which can all be viewed above and in the Audio Visual SWMS Pack. One group is the AV work itself: equipment and rack installs, ceiling and wall speakers, screens, and the points that feed them. A second is the cabling and containment running behind walls and above ceilings, fibre and cable tray and conduit included. The third is access and general site work, which is where working at height, elevated work platforms, ladders and the ceiling space and riser documents live, along with test and tag and asbestos awareness. Every SWMS is fully editable, so the controls can be modified if required to suit unique sites or varying client requirements.
If you only do residential TV mounting, two or three templates should cover you. Commercial integrators working across multiple sites get asked for far more, and the Audio Visual SWMS Pack costs far less than assembling that set piece by piece: all 31 SWMS and a saving of 65% Off the individual prices, one payment, used on unlimited jobs.

15+ years and 15,000+ customers → We've been helping small and medium construction and trade businesses get their SWMS sorted since 2010. Our templates reflect real-world experience across the trades we serve - not generic documents assembled at a desk.
Pre-written and ready to use → Every SWMS template comes pre-filled with the hazards, risks, and control measures typical for that task and trade. You're not starting from a blank page - the hard work is already done. In most cases it's far quicker to delete what doesn't apply to your specific site than to research and write it yourself.
Legally compliant → Our SWMS templates are prepared in accordance with the Model WHS Regulations (Schedule 3), Safe Work Australia Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards. They're structured to meet all the requirements of a compliant SWMS - so you can use them with confidence on site, in tenders, and in audits.
Fully editable in Microsoft Word → Everything is supplied in .docx format. Add your company and site details, adjust the control measures to reflect your specific conditions if required, and you're done. No software subscriptions, no locked PDFs.
Pay once, use on every job → No ongoing fees, no per-project charges. Purchase a template once and use it across unlimited sites, projects, and tenders. When we update documents, existing customers receive discounts on revised versions.
Free phone and email support → When you purchase from us you get access to the same people who built the documents - not a call centre, not a chatbot. If you're unsure how to customise a SWMS for your specific site conditions, or a principal contractor is asking questions you can't answer, call 1800 304 336 and we'll help you work through it.
Honest advice → If you need one SWMS, we'll sell you one SWMS. If an industry pack makes more sense for your situation, we'll tell you that too. We're not here to push you toward the most expensive option - we're here to help you end up with the right documents for your actual needs.
I contacted Occupational Safety Solutions when I was searching online for compliant Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for my Communications business.
I have had experiences with other safety companies in the past and I can say that dealing with Andrew and Occupational Safety Solutions is the first good experience I've had!! Their customer service is friendly and professional, the Audio Visual SWMS's we purchased were easy to implement and use in our business and provided the compliance we needed.
We will be looking to expand on our WHS System and SWMS's over time as I've been very happy with the outcome and would recommend Occupational Safety Solutions to other businesses looking for SWMS's.

Occupational Safety Solutions have taken all of the hard work out of WHS Management System documentation. The knowledge and support of the staff is amazing and the templates are so user friendly, they have made completing this paperwork stress-less!
We are honestly so impressed by the coverage and depth that each document goes into. The "how to roll it out" document has been so helpful in making this daunting task seem achievable. We couldn't be happier!
Thank you to Andrew and team for all of your support, highly recommended!

As a small-medium business, we recently went through a period of accelerated growth and along with that came the need to update our existing WHS system to something much more robust.
Occupational Safety Solutions helped bring our documentation up to speed and provided guidance to ensure we are aligned with best practice for all of our WHS processes and procedures. Andrew has come to the rescue more than once when we needed new or refined documents for specific tenders and updated Safe Work Method Statements.
OSS are reasonably priced and responsive with fast turn around times. Honestly, we couldn't be happier with the service provided by OSS and would highly recommend to any organisation looking to update their WHS systems.
